About Us

The Lawrence Garden Club exists to grow a community of curious, passionate gardeners, from first-time planters to seasoned horticulturists.

We believe that gardens connect people to each other and to the natural world. Through monthly meetings, hands-on projects, and educational programming, we create space for members to learn, share, and explore the full breadth of horticulture, from native plantings to floral design, conservation, and beyond.

What We Do

Our club is active nearly year-round. Members enjoy guest speakers covering a wide range of gardening topics, field trips to public and private gardens and nature preserves, and community beautification projects. Past projects have included planters at the Van Buren Conference Center, Van Buren District Library, VBC Historical Museum, and Van Buren Youth Fair.

Each spring, we host a public plant auction where you can see firsthand what our members grow. Every July, we host a National Flower Show, a judged exhibition open to the public and a highlight of our gardening year. Every December, we celebrate the season with a holiday gathering and silent auction that benefits our club projects.
